Our 1st Black Eye

It's always been said that Breelynn is the boy I never had. She is the one who isn't remotely scared to get her hands dirty, climb to new heights, and try new and scary things. She is also my sensitive one though. So when she gets a bruise, it's a huge bruise... when she gets a bug bite, you'd think that she was attacked by a swarm of said bug... every thing that happens to her is very dramatic.

So last night I set the pool up in the back yard and made dinner. It was a pretty lax evening so I was able to let the girls eat as they wanted and come and go from the pool. Well, I was in the back with Emma just about to walk into my house when I heard this loud thud! Breelynn had been in her booster chair at the table and I just knew she'd tried to climb out and had fallen.

When I went to her she was, of course, wailing. So I comforted her and asked where she'd hurt herself, worried that she might have busted a lip or hurt her mouth or something. She put her hand on her head and that's when I saw the little bump under her bangs. She was still pretty upset so I knew she'd really bumped her little head. I got her into the bath, let her watch Elmo, fed her Chocolate cake... and kept her awake for quite a while.

Well, when I went to wake her up this morning, her EYE was PURPLE! I am still confused as to how she ended up with a black eye but it looks like she has purple eye shadow on! It's so sad!

She was rubbing her eye this morning and when I asked what was wrong she said she wanted a band aid. When I asked where she wanted to put the band aid she said she wanted to put in on her eye!!! And then when Emma was getting into the car this morning she took one look in the sunlight at Bree's eye and said, "Mommy! Bree's eye is purple!!!"... and promptly started to LAUGH!

So needless to say, I feel like a crappy mom, my Angel Bree Bree has a terrible black eye, and my other Angel isn't much of an Angel for laughing at her sister's poor little eye :(
